International Axe Throwing Day is fast approaching on June 13th, and this year, we’re thrilled to announce an initiative that’s not only about bringing our community together but also about making a tangible difference in our local communities. Introducing “Axe of Kindness,” a special event dedicated to raising funds for local charities and spreading positivity far and wide! We’re calling on all our affiliates to join us in this endeavor and help make a meaningful difference in your communities.

Connect with your local WATL venue to organize an axe throwing event on June 13th, where participants can donate to support a local charity of choice. Whether it’s a friendly competition or a casual gathering, every contribution counts. Here are some examples of events that could be hosted:
- Discounted walk-ins
- Tournament
- Marathon league
- Online/in-house raffle
- How to hang and/or care for your axe (have a local maker teach a class)
- Throw with a Pro workshop
Spread the word to local news organizations and media contacts you have. Help encourage participation in your local community and help your local venue with PR and exposure.

Post a selfie of how YOU are spending International Axe Throwing Day. We want to hear about your fundraising efforts and the impact you’re making in your community. Share photos, videos, and stories from your event on social media using the hashtags #AxeofKindness and #IATD and tag your affiliate venue to inspire others and showcase the collective power of our network.
All posts on International Axe Throwing Day that feature both hashtags will automatically qualify for a chance to win a $100 WATL store gift card through a random drawing. Additionally, any videos shared to promote International Axe Throwing Day can be entered for inclusion in the Social Media Content Initiative drawing, giving you even more opportunities to win!
We’re also offering our affiliates the opportunity to compete for prizes in the following categories. By participating in IATD, not only do you contribute to your local community, but you also increase your venue’s chances of winning!
- Top donations collected by a venue
- Best promotion on social media
- Most news articles/best PR
- Biggest group selfie at the venue
The winning venues will be able to choose between 1 month of waived affiliate dues or $150 in WATL store credit! More info to come on how the winners will be chosen.
We encourage you to donate the funds raised to local charities that resonate with your community’s needs. If you’re looking for suggestions, consider organizations like Throwing It Forward (TIF), One Tree Planted, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, or The Nature Conservancy.
