Social Media Content Initiative

We’ve put together an initiative to help spur some more visibility for axe/knife throwing and if you participate you could win a gift card for the World Axe Throwing League or World Knife Throwing League store!

Why are we starting this initiative?

We’ve seen the community discussions on marketing their leagues/players. So, we’ve set up a new program and reward system for anyone in the community to participate in. This program is designed to help get exposure for your local affiliates, leagues, and grow your audience. Throwers & athletes in general are more marketable for sponsors and have a greater chance to get a sponsorship if they have a large audience. Last but not least, it’s a lot of fun! Soon we’ll be coming out with challenges that are designed to be both fun to watch and to film for everyone too!

We know some of you may be seeing this and thinking, what’s the point? Well, Social media content is essential for building community and reaching people further than ever before. It provides a space for people to connect, share information, and feel a sense of belonging. Having communication, the exchange of ideas, experiences, and support, strengthens community bonds. In modern times social media allows people to connect with others with similar interests or challenges, expanding their networks and improving their experiences together. Sharing relevant, valuable, and fun content on social media contributes significantly to the liveliness and unity of a community. So we’d like to help incentivize you to bring others to this fun sport and help our local affiliates that you’ve been throwing at for years!

So what’s the prize?

A $50 gift card to the WATL or WKTL store (depending on if you submitted axe or knife content). We will do a random drawing bi-weekly (twice per month) from the posts that are made in that time frame. There is no limit to the amount of entries made so the more posts you make the more chances you have to win! The post that is randomly selected will receive a gift card via email!

Requirements needed to enter:

  • Post a video to Instagram reels, TikTok, or YouTube shorts.
    • The same video can be posted to all three and counts as 3 entries!
    • All videos must be set to public (otherwise people won’t be able to see them!)
  • Tag WATL and/or WKTL accordingly
  • For all entries to be considered, at least one must have your local WATL/WKTL affiliated venue tagged per drawing timeline (every two weeks). 
  • Make sure the post has #WATL and/or #WKTL accordingly
  • Submit the content links to us in the form below. 

Please keep in mind that content that is deemed unsafe or that does not follow the code of conduct will disqualify all submitted. All posts should be made with that in mind. Posts don’t have to be PG, but being unsafe for shock and awe is discouraged and will not allow posts to qualify. (i.e. throwing flaming implements indoors, or attempting to catch throwing implements)

When will the prizes be drawn?

To see the winners bi-weekly, we’ll do a drawing and post it to the Facebook groups plus our Instagram and Tiktok stories every other Thursday starting May 2nd. We’ll contact the winner directly as well via email.
