"I was a stay at home mom for 4 years before I started to choose getting a career instead of being at home with my kids, while they were growing up. I never saw myself as a woman getting a career, and getting to where I am today and falling so deeply in love with this job and this sport. I was starting to put my kids aside a bit, I guess for me I feel guilty because I promised myself and them that I would always be there and there’s times when I haven’t. It’s because I want to build a career for myself. I can’t stop my life even though I have children and this is something I’ve wanted forever to find something I’m passionate about and build it up into a career. It’s definitely something I think about on a day to day basis, is it worth it, should I be doing this, but the sport of axe throwing is what keeps me going." Shy Fountain, Barrie, ON
